Purchases New Tender.

Enduris member, Lake Wenatchee Fire & Rescue (LWFR) has been awarded a grant from the Assistance to Firefighters Grant program, sponsored by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). This grant enabled the acquisition of a new water tender, which will play a crucial role in their ongoing efforts to safeguard the well-being and safety of the public and firefighting personnel in their district.

In accordance with the terms of the grant, Lake Wenatchee Fire & Rescue (LWFR) replaced an outdated 1982 National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) non-compliant, converted tender with a modern 2022 NFPA 1901/DOT Compliant Tender/Tanker. This new addition to their fleet, contains a 3,000-gallon tank, significantly enhancing their capacity to transport substantial volumes of water to address structure or wildland fires in areas lacking conventional water sources, such as standard fire hydrants.

The procurement of this water tender represents a substantial advancement in operational capabilities, particularly in protecting the citizens, homes, and infrastructure of their rural community. Given the absence of natural water sources in many of the areas they serve, this tender is instrumental in ensuring an effective and efficient response to fire emergencies.

The total cost of the tender, inclusive of the vehicle, LWFR’s cost match, and supplementary equipment installed by LWFR, amounted to approximately $440,000. The FEMA grant provided $365,000, which made this acquisition possible.

Enduris extends our congratulations to Lake Wenatchee Fire & Rescue for securing this grant. Enduris is proud to partner with Lake Wenatchee Fire & Rescue as their coverage and risk management partner as we spotlight this addition to their firefighting resources.  This acquisition signifies a significant enhancement in operational capacity and underscores their dedication to the safety and security of their community.

Thank you, Lake Wenatchee Fire & Rescue, for making your community safer and more secure for all.
