Virtual Training

Management and Supervisory Staff

As a supervisor, leading a team that is productive, engaged and collaborative can be challenging. With the added dynamic of today's hybrid reality, the challenges become even greater. Many supervisors report frustration with what they see as declining productivity, miscommunications, and bunker mentality thinking from team members as they adjust to their new circumstances. This interactive seminar will explore ideas for keeping the team on track, even during difficult times. Specifically, participants will focus on the five elements of effective teams, and strategies for meeting those elements in a hybrid environment.

Workshop attendees will explore:

Maintaining a positive customer experience by focusing on the mission when selecting those employees who may work remotely at least part of the time and determining which elements of the customer experience are most critical.

Ensuring accountability by setting and communicating expectations as the foundation for keeping all employees on track regardless of work location, including:

  • Prioritizing all job tasks
  • Ensuring the use of good time management skills
  • Effectively monitoring performance

Helping the team understand and appreciate their interconnectivity by employing specific approaches aimed at keeping all employees connected including:

  • Sharing of key information
  • Effective on-boarding strategies
  • Discouraging silo thinking
  • Reintegrating employees returning to the worksite

Facilitating cooperation by helping manage the frustration that on-site and remote employees may feel towards each other, and by managing communications including:

  • Check-ins, staff meetings and individual meetings
  • Helping employees determine which type of in-person, phone or electronic communications are appropriate in different circumstances
  • Showing appreciation and celebrating team and individual accomplishments

Course is interactive and includes group discussions. It is strongly recommended that participants connect using a device with a microphone and camera capabilities for optimal participation.
