  • Determining the PIO role with city staff, council and community public relations as lead communicator
  • Implementing the team approach through internal coordination and external communication

Risk Management Advice

  • Defining your entity's reputational risk
  • Discussing potential liability concerns

Principles and Guidelines

  • Examining the foundation that supports successful communication to include oral, written and media tools
  • Developing supportive media and public relationships

Policies and Plans

  • Identifying specific methods for high profile responses
  • Establishing steps for policy and plan protocol and implementation
