Building Supervisory Skills 101: Connie Poulsen, Management Training & Consulting
This one day workshop is designed to provide new supervisors with the skills and knowledge to be successful in their first management assignment. The session provides real-world, hands-on examples of situations that new supervisors will face, and the solutions to deal with them.
Making the transition from peer to supervisor/manager: This section will cover critical leadership qualities and behaviors as well as appropriate leadership styles.
Effective Communication: Participants will learn about the various communication styles and explore non-verbal communication.
Managerial Decision Making: The decisions that managers and supervisors make can lead to success or create unnecessary risk for the organization. The session covers the decision making process as well as decision styles.
Successful Delegation: This section teaches supervisors the delegation process, including how to set measurable objectives, assess risks, select the right performer and communicate the assignment effectively.
